Workshop Appeal –The Final Push

In the 8 years Volta Aid Foundation has been operating, we have experienced many ups and downs working in turbulent Ghana. Hundreds of volunteers have come and gone, as worldwide trends and domestic pressures continue to squeeze small, non-profits like ourselves.

We currently find ourselves just short of realising our dream; a dream that will cement our presence in the Volta Region and allow us to expand our projects to a new level. That dream is of course the completion of our multi-purpose workshop.

Despite being agonisingly close to our goal, financial insecurity has stalled progress in the past 24 months. As you can see in our pictures, we have a shell of our building – this shell will host the three key activities of the Volta Aid Foundation once complete:

  1. A start-up zone for women will see a workshop equiped with sewing machines and other equipment. This will allow up to six women to work for a limited period while they save funds for their own businesses.
  2. Our community library will be reopened, allowing children of all educational levels to utilize reading books, learning materials and educational games.
  3. It will also be our office, enabling us to operate our projects from one central location and lower our overheads.

This building represents our commitment to improving the lives of those in the Volta Region – but we need your help. There has rarely been a time when we have asked for financial donations, but alas, the time has come. With your help we hope to raise $15,000 USD to complete the building and breathe life back into our work. Please consider making a donation via the button below – together we can keep making a real difference and leave more than just footprints in the Volta Region of Ghana.
